ABOUT
Where Do Dead Malls Go? is a narrative exploration game set in the Daylight Mall, a shopping center in the process of being abandoned.
Inspired by the aesthetics of the PlayStation 1, Where Do Dead Malls Go? offers players the transgressive experience of urbex, combined with the responsibility of imagining the future of these places. Blending fascination and rejection, the mall’s megastructure is still home to a handful of users who refuse to leave, subtly reflecting our different ways of confronting the decline of late capitalism.
Where Do Dead Malls Go? has received writing and pre-production support from the CNC, and was awarded the 2023 Jeunes Talents All4Games prize by Epic Games, Ubisoft Bordeaux, Pôle Image Magelis, and CNAM-ENJMIN.
